rawvolution is a cosy little hang out place in LA

everyone is very friendly & chatty there & theres comfy sofas 2 sit on

out of all the places ive been 2 its the one with the most relaxed vibe

& a stunning array of desserts & chocolates

anyone who carries rainbow unicorn fairy crystal crunch is good by me

the 1st time i went i had a triple chocolate explosion (no surprise there)

then the next time i had a twix turtle. it had a yacon syrupy bit & buckwheaties in the centre.

My first Christmas as a raw fooder was in 1993. I didn’t do very well, to be honest. I seem to remember going hard on the roast potatoes.

Anyhow, I’ve had lots of opportunities to invent raw Christmas fayre, and in the spirit of the season in 2009, I thought I’d compile a list for you to inspire you for your own raw Christmas menus.

Gravies

Warming your gravy and serving it over your dinner is always a good idea. Warm your plates as well. If you’re using a dehydrator, try and serve as much as possible straight from it. Warm is good.

yes, chocmas is coming & the tunes R getting phat

i stopped celebrating christmas a few years bac, & started celebrating chocmas instead.

chocmas is abt casting aside the empty stressful materialism of christmas & celebrating the fact that we live the true values of christmas throughout the year, not just 4 one day.

we spend time with our loved ones, we share our gifts, we eat our favourite foods, & we try & live in peace & harmony with all mankind, evry day.

here’s mi chocmas cake available 4 dec only in whole, half & quarter sizes – orange & spice chocolate cake crammed with suma, purple corn & he shou wu & topped with cranberries & almonds.

i spent mi actual bday with 3 of mi favrite people

reuben ethan & zachary

& they made me a 3 course meal

kale chips

followed by spaghetti bolognese

& shiitake mushrooms

finished with raw magic heaven (the recipe’s in raw magic)

i definitely had the best bday eva

i cannot state 2 many times what a joy it is 2 spend my days with 3 such intelligent, funny, handsome, connected inviduals. words fail me cos i always feel like im gushing or bragging or hyping…but really. its a wondrous thing.

ps i have an amazing spaghetti bolognese recipe im goin2 post in the Bubble!

sometimes its hard 2 put my life in2 words which is why i wanted 2 attempt here 2 put it in2 pictures. “magic” 4 me is an easy word 2 summarise the daily insights, interactions & serendipities which cause me 2 feel that life is an inherently joyous  & wondrous experience. its the odd moments, the tiny incidences which form the fabric of our days that make me believe life is a gift handed 2 us by a loving & beneficent creator.

i cant make my life make sense easily with words. as i go from hiphop 2 housework via tahini & tattoos, the worlds i travel thru seem disconnected, randomly thrust 2gether in a sequence which defies logic.

we R the slash slash slash generation. not happy with labels, we usually need at least 3 (eg writer/mother/dancer). we can & we do do everything we believe we can. maybe my slashes R more random than most. but that doesnt make them any less real or less heartfelt.

also known as carrageen, its a reddish brown sea vegetable which can B used 2 make outstanding raw desserts

this is a choclate one, ive also been doing a goji one & a lemon one. im a bit mossessed.

when u blend the moss up with loads of liquid it acts as a thickener & ends up a bit like angel delight. it has no flavour so its the perfect base 4 mousses & puddings & tarts.

its also outrageously healthy, containing loads of all the usual nutritional celebrities, & very good 4 the gut.
