bac in august i visited whirlygig as part of the research 4 mi 88 book
it is an amazing club run by mary the fairy & dj monkey pilot for 25 yrs!
in 1987, it was one of the first clubs i went 2 bcos bac then it finished at 12, so we cld still get the last train home, & bcos it had no alcohol licence u didnt have 2 b 18 2 get in
then as we got older we wld use it as pre-club meeting place & all go on somewhere else afterwards, or off 2 a house party
i met a lot of people there who turned out 2 have a huge influence on mi life
theres nothing in the world like whirlygig, its a very special place
